FIRST SNOW OF THE SEASON ALERT!
Even though the calendar says Fall officially arrives tomorrow, Mother Nature provided a brief preview of winter as the Steamboat Ski Area awoke to its first snow of the season.
Snow was seen down to just below the top of Christie Peak about 8,000 feet with between a trace to half an inch as you moved up from the top of the gondola up to the summit of Mt. Werner. The Steamboat Ski Area opens for the 2009/10 season in 64 days on November 25, 2009.Steamboat was recently named North America’s #1 Family Resort by SKI Magazine and #1 Best Resort for Trees by Skiing Magazine. The resort has invested more than $30 million in on-mountain improvements over the past four years, including a remodeled and expanded Kids’ Vacation Center and new Ski & Snowboard School Ticket Office for this season.
